National Infertility Awareness Week

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I will say that I attribute most of this lifestyle change to it! So if you are reading this please don’t turn this off because you are not religious or you are not a member of this church. Because that doesn’t matter! All that matters is what I did to change my attitude. I made a list and thanked my Heavenly Father for the good things that I did have in my life. Yes a child is not a part of it but I have such a wonderful husband who loves me and would die for me if he had to. I live in a home that is so beautiful and perfect for us right now, we have caring family who pray for us daily, we both have steady jobs that make it possible for us to pay for invitro and have the means to fundraise for invitro, we live in a beautiful and free country. Yes we have so much to be thankful for and I believe that EVERYONE takes so much for granted. If everyone could just look at the good things that they do have in their life, man what a wonderful world this would be! So I challenge you to do this first step: make a list of the good things in your life and think about them often. Thank everyone for everything all the time.

The next thing I did to change my poor attitude about life and our situation was letting others comfort me, and letting God comfort me. To this day I thrive on allowing God to comfort me in all aspects of my life. Many times prior to this change I was very bitter and never allowed my family or friends comfort me when they tried. Now it is hard to let your walls down to let people in but let me tell you it is a wonderful thing. The day we decided to share our story with the world was the day I let my walls down and received so much love, comfort, and support from people who I haven’t talked to in 8-10 years! It was so overwhelming and I will say that it helped immensely with a lot of the problems I was having. Its amazing what opening up and sharing yourself with others can do.

I read a scripture one night that overwhelmed me and finally put me over the edge into the true joy and happiness zone. It is 2 Nephi 32:8-9. It reads, “ 8 And now, my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts; and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye would hearken unto the Spirit which teacheth a man to pray, ye would know that ye must pray; for the evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray.
9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul”.

Prayer is a very important part of my life. Without it I cannot thank my Heavenly Father for the good things in my life and I cannot ask him for comfort on that days when I really need the comfort, which is more often than not.  If you do not pray please I urge you to try because it opens doors for happiness and gladness. It truly is an amazing thing. These are few and simple things but they have helped me and I know it will help you too.

Our life in......UTAH!!

We'll life is crazy and great! Cole has accepted a job at 97th floor and well, we have moved to Lehi Utah! So far it is awesome! I was very hesitant to move to Utah because of all the stories I have heard about the Utah drivers, and the Utah Mormons. I was definitely afraid that I would only find rude judgmental people and I was scared that cole and I wouldn't find people to 'hang out' with. You know what I'm talking about ;) well was I sorely mistaken!!!??!! YES I sure was! Our new ward is amazing and I have not met a single rude person here. I know that sounds a little ridiculous and we have only been here two weeks but it has been a very enjoyable two weeks and we feel so good about moving here. James and Ashley Rogers (our best friends from byu Hawaii) have been excellent tour guides for us as we get acquainted with the area. We are so blessed to live by them. They are amazing!!!

Coles job is going great and he loves it so much! He works with corporation size companies and does their online marketing while utilizing all different social media apps/sites. Every day cole comes home with a new app for us to download and it actually is pretty fun learning so many new things about social media. I'll give you one app to download, it's called paper. You need to search for it under free apps and you'll find it. You can't just search for it. Anyways it's a really cool app:) so Coles job is going greats nod he is looking at getting a promotion in the next couple of weeks! Yeah buddy!!!:)

Now I am working at legends sports and fitness and I'm just working on getting lots of clients through lots of free orientations. Except I just found out today that I lost my job!!! Bleuh!!! Yeah so I'm on the hunt for a better job! One that I can hopefully keep! Loosing your job is a feeling that I never want to feel again. Definitely not pleasant!

It's amazing how much you can feel the spirit when you aren't in primary. I have been in the primary presidency for the last two years (almost) and being able to go to relief society is wonderful! The spirit is so strong and I have cried every Sunday (good cry from the spirit) since being here. It's a great feeling and I hope to be able to feel the spirit like that again every Sunday!

We went to the timpanogos temple the other night and had a great time! What a beautiful temple it is:)

Hello again!

well it has been a whole entire year since i last posted! it is crazy how fast time flies by when your enjoying life so much!!! :) So this past year sure has been a busy one for us! Cole is working for Hibu, which used to be Yellowbook. He really likes the online part of it but cant really get people to get in the actual book because he has a hard time really believing in it because we are an online world now and the book will be dying soon! probably not in the Coeur d Alene area for a while but it will eventually happen... Cole loves his job and is excelling so much and will hopefully see some raises and higher positions :) I started personal training exactly one year ago this week! it has been a challenge to get clients and to get busy and keep those clients but it has been a blast and i am starting to see the rewards of my hard work paying off! I have about 10 clients that are constantly buying sessions and are seeing huge improvements from the hard work they have been putting in! It is so fun to see those improvements and the changes in their body, attitude, happiness, etc. I really love what i do and i don't feel like i am going to work! thats how much i love it! :) I have a couple group classes that i am teaching as well. One is call Ripped Core where we do lots of HIIT workouts (High Intensity Interval training) combined with some cross fit! It's a really fun and challenging class! The other class i teach is called Super Fit Mama. It is a class specialized for pregnant women and postpartum women who want to get their pre baby body back! It has been hard for me to get people signed up for this class. I am not quite sure why but i hope that women will understand the importance of working out while pregnant. it is such an important thing to stay in shape for many reasons, one being that it helps with labor. How can that not get you to come workout????? I can hopefully get women to sign up for my class soon!

So that is a little bit of how our work life has been. As far as church goes we have moved wards quite a bit in the last few years. Right when we got back from Hawaii in 2011 we were in the CDA 2nd ward. Well about a year into living in that ward it split and we were moved into the CDA 3rd ward. We immediately got callings. Cole was called to be the ward mission leader and I was called to be the 1st counselor in the Young Women's! It was my absolute favorite calling. We had so much fun with our tiny young women's! I think there was about 9 or 10 girls total in our young women's. It was so small but so much fun! So we were so sad to have to leave that ward even though it was 60% people of 60 years old and older..... We moved out to Post Falls where are are currently residing. We are in the Post Falls 2nd Ward and it is definitely our favorite ward EVER! We love our callings and love everyone in our ward so much! we have made very close friends with lots of people and that was our biggest challenge when we got back from Hawaii. We felt like we couldn't find anyone our age. Well since then we have found many people our age and older who are awesome members of the church and are so sweet and cool down to earth normal people! Cole is the 1st counselor in the Elders Quorum and I am the Secretary in the Primary. We are both very busy with our callings but we love them so much! We have so much fun and are learning a ton!!! We are really have so much fun with life right now and we wouldn't ask for anything to be different in our lives.

We have trying for children for the past 3 1/2 years and have made lots of progress with doctors and we know what we have to do now! So after we got back from China we decided to get some help. We went and saw Dr. Woods and sad to say we didn't really get anywhere with him. We tried Artificial Insemination 4 times and nothing came from that. We then asked him what our next step would be and he said In-Vitro and that he didn't know what was wrong. He said that we were in the unexplained infertility category. Cole and I went home and decided that we needed to get a second opinion. Not because he was a bad Dr. He is an excellent Dr. but because we didn't feel like that was our next step. So we mad an appointment to see the fertility specialist in Spokane, Dr. Robbins and it took 4 months to get in and see him! He is that good of a doctor and so dang busy! So we went to go see him and right away he looks at our charts and sees that Cole has problems with his sperm. Most of the things they have to look at in the sperm, was low and not the best. The next thing he saw was that my thyroid was off. Turns out that I have a hypothyroid! I was put on medications and also on prenatal's because they want me to be pregnant soon! They completed other testing on me like a hysteroscope and lots of ultrasounds and blood tests and found that in fact i do have lots of problems going on with my body. It turns out that i have degenerative ovaries which means that 1: I don't produce the best eggs and 2: by the time I am 30 I will no longer be able to have children. When i heard that I had to hold in the tears until we got home because to hear something like that is a life changing moment and that was a first for Cole and I. What does this mean??? well it means that we need to do In-virto within the next 6 months because if we wait any longer my chances for in-vitro even working is under 50%. If we begin the process before then my chances are a whopping 89%! So we have to make the decision to get into further debt and dig ourselves into a deeper hole or wait and be patient and have all the faith in the lord. Either way we will need that faith and courage to get through this trial.....It makes our decision even tougher because now we have a time constraint on our situation. We only have 6 more years to finish having our family. Adoption is running through our minds like crazy and that is something we need to go to the Lord with. Do we adopt and forgo in-vitro? do we try in-vitro and adopt later on? the Temple is calling our names LOUD & CLEAR! These past couple of day have been so hard on me but i have amazing family who loves and cares for me! Jessica took me out for a girls evening and we got Jamba Juice and pedicures :) my mom later took me out shopping :) just my kind of therapy! So We are in good hands and we are so happy with the way our lives have gone! Cole and I love each other more than ever and we would not choose to go through this trial with anyone different. I love Cole so much and he is such a special person! We have gained so much strength, faith, courage, hope through this trial. We are grateful for each other every second! I love Cole so much! Thats our past year in a small brief moment. I plan to write more often so i can one day be better at journaling our lives. The plan os to print off every post from the past year and put it into a book for our records incase one day all the power goes out and we don't have access to anything online! ;)

China: land of the dirty, home of the fake

Well it sure is good to be back in the promised land ;) China was definitely an eye opening experience and I can confidently say that I have had my fill of China and we aren't sure if we plan on going back anytime soon... We did see and do some pretty amazing things and we learned so much about China and its people. The people there are so kind and warm hearted. They have an innocence about them (in a non-innocence way…)... In the short time that we were there we met some awesome people.   For example while we were in Beijing shopping at the Silk market we decided that there was just too much good stuff that we were passing up so we needed to exchange some more money. We were walking along the street looking for an exchange place and this girl runs up to us and asks us with her sweet broken English, "where you are from???" we replied that we are Americans and were here on vacation, visiting Coles parents. She then goes into asking us if we were brother sister, boyfriend & girlfriend...We explained we were married and that it was ok to be married at a younger age. The Chinese people are expected to be married between the ages of 23 & 26 I think it was... She was shocked to learn we were married and asked us about religion, because she knows that sometimes when your married young you have a religion. Unfortunately we could not talk to her about religion because in China there are laws forbidding Christian proselyting. We could get into a lot of trouble just talking about it on the streets with any Chinese native. So when she started talking about religion we got super scared. Until we found out that she was a baptized Christian as of a few months ago. So we did talk a little bit but definitely did not go into any detail with her on The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. After about 15 minutes of answering her questions on the street she offered to help us find a money exchange place only if we would go across the street and look at her artwork in the University she attended. We agreed and I ended up buying some of her artwork to help her pay to study abroad in Germany. It felt good helping her out... I just hope that it wasn't a scam...... hahaha By the end of the art tour she did help us find a money exchange place and we were all happy cuz we got our money and so did she...:)

Our trip started off AWESOME! We were waiting in Seattle fro the flight and the flight lady at the check-in desk at the gate called our names! we thought we were gonna be kicked off the flight or something. She tells us that the flight was full and that they would like to upgrade us to FIRST CLASS! WAHOO!!!!! We obviously said yes and were SO excited :) We didn't know what to expect. We now know why it costs so much for first class.....
1. They give you a sweatshirt and sweatpants
2. You get a full 7-8 course meal.....
3. Your own TV, not on the back of the seat in front of you...
4. Your chair turns into a bed! yes we slept on beds flying to China
5. Hot towel to clean your face and hands
6. A travel bag with face wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, mouth wash, etc
And all of these things you keep! :) Here are our first class pictures :) And I did forget to take a picture of the salad.. :(

There were some great times and some bad times we had in China.
The Good:
1. The people
2. The shopping!!!!!!!
3. History
4. Tourist spots: Great wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Silk Market, etc. 5. American food....
6. Money exchange rate
7. Shopping :)
8. First class :)

The shopping there was incredible however just because it was really cheap always meant that it was fake. EVERYTHING IS FAKE! We have come to learn that China people have mastered fake in every way. Everything we bought there was name brand like, Armani, D&G, North Face, etc... but not the real brand. It looks incredibly similar to the real thing and we were so amazed at how they were able to accomplish this. So while shopping we learned to barter with them and got some superb deals! I got some Toms and a pair of Nike shoes for a total of $35. Got all the girls in Young Women's a gift for a total of $40. We sure had a hard time fitting all our stuff into suitcases.

Why the shopping was so good was because of the exchange rate. We exchange a hundred dollars at a time to be safe and be able to come back with some US dollars and so when you exchange $100 you get in return 630 Yuen. Lets just say that that is a lot over in China.... I got the two pair of shoes for 230 Yuen. So you can see that it goes a long way! It was awesome! We took Taxis everywhere and if we were in the taxi for 45 minutes you would probably pay around 45 Yuen, which comes to $7. So really the only expensive part about China was buying the plane ticket and getting there! Other than that it is VERY cheap!

The reason why I added American food to the good things about China is because I did try a lot of authentic foods, and because I did this I was punished with a really, really, really bad case of diarrhea. :( EVERYTHING literally went straight through me and I was in the bathroom every 5 minutes :( So towards the end of the trip we stayed and ate at places like McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hut. And the food actually tasted like American food. Very delicious and helped me get better :)

The Chicken that (i think) made me sick :( It was delicious tho!!!

Visiting the tourist places was a real treat and we enjoyed every minute of it and also learning about the History of China. It is a very fascinating country.

Forbidden City

These were built throughout the whole Forbidden City because when the Emperor was young he loved riding his bike around and the Empress tried putting a stop to it :)

Forbidden City: the Emperor loved his Gardens

putside the Forbidden City. Very homely place

YAY! Wedding Day for this beautiful Bride. Outside the Forbidden City

I took this picture late but they give you 99 seconds to get all the people across the street!

This looked fun! Sad we were too hot and beat from walking the very BIG Forbidden City

A panda's home at the Panda zoo

 :)

 Adorbz!

 they love watermelon :)

 :)

You pick this bag up and that is how much a baby panda weighs... There was an asian couple and he tried lifting it and couldn't. So Cole and I wanted to feel how heavy it was and they stepped aside to watch us lift it and it was no problem for Cole or I. The Asian girl looked at her boy and walked away cuz he couldn't lift it! It was HILARIOUS! :)

 At the Panda Zoo

 I'm a Panda!!!

About 5 times a day Asian people asked to have their picture taken with us. I guess ALL Americans are famous to those Chinese!

Cole with his random picture of the day!

:)

Temple of Heaven. It was about 115 degrees that day so it wasn't that much fun unfortunately...

Temple of Heaven. The walk the Emperor took for some ceremonies and sacrifices

No one was allowed to walk on this center part of the sacrificial walk because it was sacred to them. So of course I had to walk on it ;)

BIG Buddha we found on the side of the mountainside in JiNan

You had to hike up to see the Buddha so they rented these out for you to ride down on!!! Yes those stuffed animals had wheels on them so you could ride them down as well!!! :)

Random Chinese version of zumba in front of the BIG Buddha

 Temple of Heaven

This was their way of telling us to stay off the grass! No one knew English there and no one knew how to write it either... Weird

Nice profile of the Buddha

This is how bike riding is done in China :)

:) sometimes we would see a husband driving with his wife and 2 kids on the back!

First picture with my new hair..... just woke up ;)

Yes people still do pray at the incense...

 Biggest incense i'v EVER seen!

At the Train station just getting to Qindau at the Yellow Sea

The Yellow Sea with Qindau in the background :)

Starfish and turtles for sale for the locals to eat!!! The food there is weird and gross!

Qindau :)

Qindau :)

 Now for the BAD:
1. Toilets
2. Hot and Humid
3. EVERYONE SMOKES
4. Government
5. A few rude people here and there (but no matter where you go there will always be rude people)
6. Smog
7. Food
8. Customer Service
9. Taxi drivers
10. Traffic
11. TOO MANY POEPLE IN CHINA
12. Dirty12. No one knows how to speak English, only the educated Chinese
13. You can't drink the water there

When you brush your teeth, drink water, wash your face... it all has to be done with water bottles or Culligans water in a 5 gallon jug.... It sucks to have to worry if you drank faucet water. Cuz if you did you can easily get a bug/parasites. It is the same with the local Chinese as well. I feel sorry for all of them!

The toilets there are literally Holes in the ground. The only good thing about them is that they are porcelain. We dreaded going to the bathroom in public so if we could, we would hold it until we got back to the hotel where they had normal toilets... We visited a city on the coast of the Yellow Sea called Qindau (ch-ing-dow) and that was when i was recovering from my sickness...Well the worst happened and I had to go right then and there! we found a bathroom and had no time to find a different one otherwise I would have an even worse problem to deal with.. :/ I walked in the stall to find no toilet paper pee, poop, and blood EVERYWHERE! Yes that was a typical bathroom because they do not flush toilet paper in China so they wipe and put it all into a basket next to the toilet or the floor.... I seriously had no choice but to use that bathroom. Thank goodness I had toilet paper in my backpack. My mother-in-law had prepared me well :) I was so relieved that only had to happen once!!! And about the dirtiness in the bathrooms...I am NOT exaggerating at all!

The weather there was about 98 degrees plus another 15-20 degrees from the humidity. Way worse than the humidity in Hawaii. We were constantly wet with sweat the only place with air conditioning was the hotel...:( The smog was so bad there that even on a clear day you could barely see the top of the tall buildings. It gets super clear, for China, outside the city... I'm not sure how the people there live! It's depressing not being able to see the beautiful blue sky.

Literally every male there smokes. We would be taking a taxi and the driver would have no problem lighting up right then and there.... My worst experience with this was one time we took a dirt road and the driver just finished his cigarette and rolled up the window because he did not want dirt in the car...or he didn't want to breath the dirt.... We about died. I swear we almost died from second hand smoke :/

So the first 3 days of the trip we were in Beijing and there is approximately 22 Million people there...we then went to JiNan, a smaller town/city, for the remainder of the trip, where my in-laws were teaching English. There is approximately 6 million people there. Therefor making the Traffic horrible! The law is that the people yield to the cars not cars yield to people like America. So we saw over 100 times where a car almost hit someone. It is insane there! All in all there are just too many people that live in China. The biggest city in China has about 35 Million people. I am glad we decided not to visit ;)

Customer Service is very different.... If you ask someone a question, 1. They probably don't know English, and 2. They will direct you to someone else because they only know what they are selling like yogurt and that's it! I guess that is their way of making enough jobs for everyone that lives there! When we were at the airport trying to check our bags in we had to wait in line for about 2 hours.... Once we finally made it to the check-in counter we were told that we were there too early so we could not check in… By then Cole and I were ready to get home and were done with the way that were constantly being treated... We got upset and asked to speak to a manager and they said not necessary here in the line go to the front and check in... I guess the managers there do not like being bugged... we had to go through customs where they check for your visa and boarding pass. After waiting in that line Cole went through first and everything went smooth, then it was my turn.....The government guy looked at everything and said in broken Engrish...."u need departure slip..." he showed me what it was and I said ok well my husband who you just let through didn't have one so why did I need to have one?... I was not about to wait in line again and get separated from Cole..... He just looked at me...I asked again and he said next prease.... I said NO! You should not have to make me get a departure slip if he Doesn't have to.... he just stared so I went and quickly filled one out. By now I was FURIOUS! I didn't wait in line, just slipped in front and went straight to his counter.... I slapped the slip and my visa on the counter and he got real pissed...oops! Probably shouldn't have done that! TOO LATE :) I said here's the departure slip can I get through now!???? He just looked at me with a nasty look on his face as if he wasn't going to let me through.... About 5 minutes and an apology later he let me through...... :)

The best and worst experience of china!
THE BEST! Teaching English to the students there with my father-in-law :) what a blast! He let Cole and I lecture for a few hours and we had a blast!
THE WORST! So I was told that I should get my hair cut in China because it is Cheap for Americans (after the exchange rate its like $10) and they do a great job. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law as well as their friends got their hair done and said it was good! :) So I was considering on getting my haircut anyways so I thought why not bring some China back with me :) Worst idea EVER! I go in and get my hair washed twice :) then he starts cutting..... Next thing I know I have a pixie cut!!!!!!! and I start crying because I asked for an A-line cut! I seriously wake up every morning and I am living a nightmare! I feel like a little 12 yr. old boy. Thank goodness my hair grows somewhat fast!!!!

we had the opportunity to spend my birthday in CHina! Cole took me to Beijing and we just did some pretty awesome bargain shopping at the silk market all day! we got some really great things like jackets shoes things for our house. I got a gorgeous tea set..of course for hot chocolate ;) When we got back frm the 2 hour train ride from Beijing Cole made me dinner on the roof of the hotel. The weather was cooling down, we had a beautiful view and a delicious dinner! :) He is such a great husband and I definitely got spoiled for my birthday!!!! Here are some pictures :)

Dinner on the roof... It was dark adn the flash blinded me ;)

Dinner and fun birthday decorations :)

 :D

Cupcakes Nancy made for me :) and the fun decorations she put up! definitely made me feel loved on my birthday! I AM SPOILED :)

THe beautiful but not good half cake half cream b-day cake :)

Other than all that our trip was good :) and I am SOOOOOOOO glad that we were able to have the experience that we did :) Next big trip we are planning is France :) CANT WAIT!!!!!!!
